Roy Lowe, 502nd Civil Engineer Squadron, Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston, cuts bricks to the precise size to place on Washington Circle star Aug. 20, 2015 at JBSA-Randolph. The star on the traffic island in Washington Circle, one of the earliest features of the Army Air Corps’ Randolph Field more than eight decades ago, will soon become a distinctive hardscape filled with terracotta paver bricks and bordered by multi-colored river stones and decomposed granite while retaining its five-pointed appearance.

COLONEL DAVID S. DRICHTA

Col. David S. Drichta is the Commander, 12th Operations Group, 12th Flying Training Wing, Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph, Texas. The group is responsible for introduction to fighter fundamentals student and instructor upgrade mission, as well as the Air Force's only pilot instructor training, undergraduate remotely piloted aircraft pilot and sensor operator qualification programs. The group consists of five flying training squadrons and an operations support squadron with more than 350 flying instructors, 20 enlisted members, and 282 DoD civilians and contractors who collectively produce more than 1,100 graduates per year.
