U.S. Air Force Maj. Warren Kuhn, 560th Flying Training Squadron instructor pilot, taxies a T-38 Talon with retired Navy Capt. David J. Carey following Carey’s Freedom Flight at Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph, Texas, April 10, 2025. Kuhn flew with Carey during the commemorative flight. The Freedom Flyer tradition recognizes former military aviator POWs by returning them to flight in a T-38 Talon. Carey spent nearly six years in captivity after being shot down over North Vietnam in 1967.
