99th FTS carries on Tuskegee Airmen legacy, trains ‘world’s best’ instructor pilots

Maj. Ryan Scott, 99th Flying Training Squadron “A” flight commander and T-1A Jayhawk instructor pilot, and 2nd Lt. Aimee St. Cyr, 99th FTS instructor pilot trainee, prepare to taxi on to the runway at Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph May 16, 2016. The 99th FTS originated in 1941 as the 99th Pursuit Squadron, which was formed during World War II as the first flying unit for African Americans.
