On March 18, 2025, Airman First Class Joselyn Guajardo, an Aerospace Physiology Technician with the 12th Operations Support Squadron at Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph, was recognized as the Hidden Hero award recipient for March by The Chamber’s Military Affairs Committee, representing the cities of Schertz, Cibolo, and Selma.

The Chamber recognized Guajardo’s many contributions to the 12th Flying Training Wing’s mission of training warfighters for America. Her achievements include flying in the hypobaric chamber 29 times as an inside observer, assisted with 12 student physiological reactions, and scheduled over 1,000 students for training.

She later transitioned to the logistics section, where she was chosen to represent the Aerospace Physiology Flight during a Vertical Inspection. Guajardo conducted aviator mask inspections, navigating the breakdown, cleaning, and assembly processes while referencing technical orders to answer all inspector questions.

Her commitment to mission was displayed as she taught students on the spatial disorientation machine, where her in-depth knowledge and initiative to learn aircraft cockpit controls enabled her to provide pilots with required training. Her efforts were instrumental in her section achieving a perfect 100% pass rate and being rated as highly effective, earning her well-deserved praise from the Lieutenant Colonel lead inspector.

The Chamber’s Military Affairs Committee recognizes service members like A1C Guajardo for their outstanding contributions to the military community. Her recognition as a Hidden Hero highlights the invaluable impact of dedicated Airmen on the success of FTW’s mission.
